I worked with Mintplex (formally RAMPP), a Web3 no-code tool startup, to help them launch their own NFT collection. I ideated the profile picture (PFP) character, the RAMPParrot, and brought it to life through digital illustration. The final product is a collection of 253 generated 'RAMPParrot' NTFs.
key learnings
Okay, hear me out. I know NFTs are dead and that Web3, however sleepy it is now, is well past its heyday, but I still love showcasing this project anyways.
First, this was my first-ever purely illustration-based commission. I had barely illustrated digitally before this, let alone been commissioned to do so. Yet, somehow, I pulled it off—proving my ability to learn on the fly and execute high-quality work under tight deadlines with no guidance.
Second, it was a fun project to be part of during the wave of NFT communities. While the NFT sector no longer holds the integrity or hype it once did, I enjoyed immersing myself in the space while it had momentum. As an enthusiast of colorful design and cute caricatures, this project gave me a chance to be creatively at play.
